Since late 2021, Heartwood Partners has been working with executive Mike Smith to develop a multi-brand modular construction company to deliver greater quality control, more cost efficiency and improved worker safety.
To initiate its strategy, Heartwood Partners partnered with SteelCell, a leading provider and manufacturer of modular custom, durable security solutions. During its partnership with Heartwood Partners, SteelCell has expanded its offerings to include refurbishment services, replacement parts and locking systems. In addition, in 2023, the team launched the CareAffirm brand, a modular building solution that serves the behavioral and mental health sector. Finally, in 2024, the team acquired Portable Solutions Group (“PSG”), a manufacturer of modular access control security solutions that serve the construction and industrial markets. Similar to the SteelCell and CareAffirm brands, PSG’s innovative Modular Access Control or “MAC” portals and restrooms are robust applications that address site security to create a safer, more efficient workplace.
VITALSpace was born to house the brands of SteelCell, CareAffirm and PSG, each of which is focused on delivering the highest quality modular units for some of our most vital environments and applications. Moving forward, VITALSpace will continue to expand its vision to meet increasing demand for modular building solutions across a variety of end-markets.
